Aesthetic of historical pain | 2020
The pervasive patriarchal system has now, in cooperation with the capitalist system, caused more social alienation of women than ever before. It is historical oppression of women that is rooted in a patriarchal language and culture that strengthens itself at all times. This series refers to the ignorance and denial of women, and with an aesthetic attitude, it deals with a kind of taboo-breaking experience that, despite its repetition, has been hidden throughout history as if it did not exist. At the same time, the shape of the uterus and the umbilical cord of the photographs depict the monthly process that is directly linked to the continuation of human life and on the other hand is childbirth which symbolically shows its aesthetic value. In contrast to the patriarchal system in which the woman, thoughts, and issues related to her are considered inferior and is a symbol of ugliness and weakness.
